Finally, the movie seems to enjoy depicting the sexual relationship between a teenager and a woman more than twice his age. Slight changes in the dialogue from the novel’s third act don’t help.

Also, the moral worldview in the movie’s second half is too ambiguous and murky at times. Cut to 1966, where Michael, a law student now, is observing a trial for six female guards at a small Nazi concentration camp during the Holocaust. In between explicit sex scenes, Hanna makes Michael read the books he’s reading in his literature class, including Homer’s ODYSSEY.
